Arjuna said: O Krishna, seeing my own kinsmen arrayed and eager for battle, my limbs are failing and my mouth is drying up.

Sanskrit

अर्जुन उवाच | दृष्ट्वेमं स्वजनं कृष्ण युयुत्सुं समुपस्थितम् | सीदन्ति मम गात्राणि मुखं च परिशुष्यति ||

Transliteration

arjuna uvāca dṛṣṭvemaṁ sva-janaṁ kṛṣṇa yuyutsuṁ samupasthitam sīdanti mama gātrāṇi mukhaṁ ca pariśuṣyati

Commentary

Arjuna describes the physical symptoms of his overwhelming grief. These bodily reactions - trembling limbs and dry mouth - are signs of deep emotional distress. This honest confession of vulnerability marks the beginning of his spiritual journey.
