“With the destruction of the family, the eternal family traditions are destroyed, and with the destruction of these traditions, the whole family becomes involved in irreligion.”

कुलक्षये प्रणश्यन्ति कुलधर्माः सनातनाः | धर्मे नष्टे कुलं कृत्स्नमधर्मोऽभिभवत्युत ||
Transliteration
kula-kṣaye praṇaśyanti kula-dharmāḥ sanātanāḥ dharme naṣṭe kulaṁ kṛtsnam adharmo 'bhibhavaty uta
Commentary
Arjuna presents a sociological argument. Family destruction leads to loss of dharmic traditions, which leads to the spread of adharma throughout the remaining family members.
