“The threefold fruit of action—undesirable, desirable, and mixed—accrues after death to those who do not renounce, but never to renouncers.”
Sanskrit
अनिष्टमिष्टं मिश्रं च त्रिविधं कर्मणः फलम् | भवत्यत्यागिनां प्रेत्य न तु सन्न्यासिनां क्वचित् ||
Transliteration
aniṣṭam iṣṭaṁ miśraṁ ca tri-vidhaṁ karmaṇaḥ phalam bhavaty atyāgināṁ pretya na tu sannyāsināṁ kvacit
Commentary
Actions bear three types of results: bad, good, and mixed. Those attached to results experience these after death. True renouncers, surrendering all fruits, are freed from karmic consequences.
