“If, taking refuge in ego, you think 'I will not fight,' that resolve is vain—your nature will compel you.”
Sanskrit
यदहङ्कारमाश्रित्य न योत्स्य इति मन्यसे | मिथ्यैष व्यवसायस्ते प्रकृतिस्त्वां नियोक्ष्यति ||
Transliteration
yad ahaṅkāram āśritya na yotsya iti manyase mithyaiṣa vyavasāyas te prakṛtis tvāṁ niyokṣyati
Commentary
If Arjuna refuses to fight from ego, his decision is futile. His warrior nature will eventually compel him. One cannot escape one's dharma through willfulness.
