Chapter 2: Transcendental Knowledgeसांख्ययोग
2:50
“One who is endowed with wisdom casts off both good and evil deeds in this very life. Therefore, strive for yoga, which is the art of all work.”
Sanskrit
बुद्धियुक्तो जहातीह उभे सुकृतदुष्कृते | तस्माद्योगाय युज्यस्व योगः कर्मसु कौशलम् ||
Transliteration
buddhi-yukto jahātīha ubhe sukṛta-duṣkṛte tasmād yogāya yujyasva yogaḥ karmasu kauśalam
Commentary
Yoga is defined here as skill in action - the ability to work effectively while remaining free from karmic bondage. A wise person transcends both merit and demerit by acting without personal attachment.
