“One who is without attachment everywhere, who neither rejoices nor hates when obtaining good or evil, is firmly fixed in perfect knowledge.”
Sanskrit
यः सर्वत्रानभिस्नेहस्तत्तत्प्राप्य शुभाशुभम् | नाभिनन्दति न द्वेष्टि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता ||
Transliteration
yaḥ sarvatrānabhisnehas tat tat prāpya śubhāśubham nābhinandati na dveṣṭi tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā
Commentary
Neither celebrating good fortune nor resenting bad luck, the person of wisdom maintains equanimity in all circumstances. This non-attachment is true freedom.
