“O Partha, there is no work prescribed for Me within the three worlds. There is nothing that I need, nothing that I have not attained - yet I am engaged in action.”
Sanskrit
न मे पार्थास्ति कर्तव्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु किञ्चन | नानवाप्तमवाप्तव्यं वर्त एव च कर्मणि ||
Transliteration
na me pārthāsti kartavyaṁ triṣu lokeṣu kiñcana nānavāptam avāptavyaṁ varta eva ca karmaṇi
Commentary
Krishna, though needing nothing, continues to act. The Divine sets the example of selfless activity. If God works despite having no need, how much more should humans engage in duty?
