“Therefore, O best of the Bharatas, in the very beginning curb this great symbol of sin by regulating the senses. It is the destroyer of knowledge and realization.”

तस्मात्त्वमिन्द्रियाण्यादौ नियम्य भरतर्षभ | पाप्मानं प्रजहि ह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम् ||
Transliteration
tasmāt tvam indriyāṇy ādau niyamya bharatarṣabha pāpmānaṁ prajahi hy enaṁ jñāna-vijñāna-nāśanam
Commentary
The solution is sense control from the start. Don't let desire gain entry through the senses. This enemy destroys both theoretical knowledge and practical realization if not checked early.
