“Those desiring success in their actions worship the gods in this world, for success from action comes quickly in this human world.”
Sanskrit
काङ्क्षन्तः कर्मणां सिद्धिं यजन्त इह देवताः | क्षिप्रं हि मानुषे लोके सिद्धिर्भवति कर्मजा ||
Transliteration
kāṅkṣantaḥ karmaṇāṁ siddhiṁ yajanta iha devatāḥ kṣipraṁ hi mānuṣe loke siddhir bhavati karma-jā
Commentary
People worship various deities for material success, and such worship yields quick results. But these are temporary gains compared to the eternal fruit of knowing the Supreme.
