“The Supreme Lord said: O mighty-armed one, undoubtedly the mind is difficult to restrain and restless. But through practice and detachment, O son of Kunti, it can be controlled.”
Sanskrit
श्रीभगवानुवाच | असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् | अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते ||
Transliteration
śrī-bhagavān uvāca asaṁśayaṁ mahā-bāho mano durnigrahaṁ calam abhyāsena tu kaunteya vairāgyeṇa ca gṛhyate
Commentary
Krishna validates Arjuna's concern but offers hope. The two keys are abhyasa (consistent practice) and vairagya (dispassion). Together, these gradually tame even the most restless mind.
