“The physical nature is known as adhibhuta; the universal form of the Lord is adhidaiva; and I Myself, dwelling in the heart, am the Lord of sacrifice, adhiyajna, O best of the embodied.”
Sanskrit
अधिभूतं क्षरो भावः पुरुषश्चाधिदैवतम् | अधियज्ञोऽहमेवात्र देहे देहभृतां वर ||
Transliteration
adhibhūtaṁ kṣaro bhāvaḥ puruṣaś cādhidaivatam adhiyajño 'ham evātra dehe deha-bhṛtāṁ vara
Commentary
Material nature constantly changes (adhibhuta). The cosmic person includes all gods (adhidaiva). Krishna Himself, present in every heart as the Supersoul, is the Lord of all sacrifice.
