1:10
“Our strength is immeasurable, and we are perfectly protected by Grandfather Bhishma, whereas the strength of the Pandavas, protected by Bhima, is limited.”
Sanskrit
अपर्याप्तं तदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम् | पर्याप्तं त्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम् ||
Transliteration
aparyāptaṁ tad asmākaṁ balaṁ bhīṣmābhirakṣitam paryāptaṁ tv idam eteṣāṁ balaṁ bhīmābhirakṣitam
Commentary
Duryodhana tries to boost morale by claiming superiority. His comparison of Bhishma to Bhima is strategic - Bhishma was invincible, while Bhima, though mighty, was not considered equal in stature.
