“Greater is the difficulty of those whose minds are set on the unmanifest, for the path of the unmanifest is difficult for embodied beings to attain.”
Sanskrit
क्लेशोऽधिकतरस्तेषामव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम् | अव्यक्ता हि गतिर्दुःखं देहवद्भिरवाप्यते ||
Transliteration
kleśo 'dhikataras teṣām avyaktāsakta-cetasām avyaktā hi gatir duḥkhaṁ dehavadbhir avāpyate
Commentary
The impersonal path is harder for those with bodies. Meditating on the formless while possessing a form is inherently challenging. This is why personal devotion is recommended.
