“Being beginningless and beyond the qualities, the Supreme Self is imperishable. Though dwelling in the body, O son of Kunti, It neither acts nor is tainted.”
Sanskrit
अनादित्वान्निर्गुणत्वात्परमात्मायमव्ययः | शरीरस्थोऽपि कौन्तेय न करोति न लिप्यते ||
Transliteration
anāditvān nirguṇatvāt paramātmāyam avyayaḥ śarīra-stho 'pi kaunteya na karoti na lipyate
Commentary
The Supreme Self, being eternal and transcendent to the gunas, remains untouched by bodily activities. Like space in a container, It pervades without being affected.
