“'I am wealthy and of noble birth. Who is equal to me? I will sacrifice, I will give, I will rejoice'—thus deluded by ignorance—”
Sanskrit
आढ्योऽभिजनवानस्मि कोऽन्योऽस्ति सदृशो मया | यक्ष्ये दास्यामि मोदिष्य इत्यज्ञानविमोहिताः ||
Transliteration
āḍhyo 'bhijanavān asmi ko 'nyo 'sti sadṛśo mayā yakṣye dāsyāmi modiṣya ity ajñāna-vimohitāḥ
Commentary
They boast: 'I'm rich and well-born. Who compares to me? I'll perform rituals and give charity for show.' Such thinking, born of ignorance, leads deeper into delusion.
