“Non-violence, truthfulness, freedom from anger, renunciation, tranquility, aversion to fault-finding, compassion for all beings, freedom from greed, gentleness, modesty, and steadiness—”
Sanskrit
अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम् | दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम् ||
Transliteration
ahiṁsā satyam akrodhas tyāgaḥ śāntir apaiśunam dayā bhūteṣv aloluptvaṁ mārdavaṁ hrīr acāpalam
Commentary
The divine qualities continue: non-harming, honesty, calmness, letting go, peace, not criticizing, compassion, contentment, tenderness, humility, and consistency. These form the foundation of spiritual life.
