16:3
“Vigor, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, freedom from malice, and absence of excessive pride—these belong to one born for the divine estate, O Bharata.”
Sanskrit
तेजः क्षमा धृतिः शौचमद्रोहो नातिमानिता | भवन्ति सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातस्य भारत ||
Transliteration
tejaḥ kṣamā dhṛtiḥ śaucam adroho nātimānitā bhavanti sampadaṁ daivīm abhijātasya bhārata
Commentary
The list concludes with energy, patience, determination, purity, absence of envy, and humility. These twenty-six qualities constitute the divine nature that leads to liberation.
