“Therefore, one who sees only the self as the doer, with impure understanding, does not see—that foolish one.”
Sanskrit
तत्रैवं सति कर्तारमात्मानं केवलं तु यः | पश्यत्यकृतबुद्धित्वान्न स पश्यति दुर्मतिः ||
Transliteration
tatraivam sati kartāram ātmānaṁ kevalaṁ tu yaḥ paśyaty akṛta-buddhitvān na sa paśyati durmatiḥ
Commentary
Given these five factors, anyone who thinks 'I alone am the doer' lacks understanding and is deluded. The ego's claim to sole authorship is a fundamental error.
