“That intelligence which incorrectly understands dharma and adharma, and what ought to be done and not done—that is rajasic, O Partha.”
Sanskrit
यया धर्ममधर्मं च कार्यं चाकार्यमेव च | अयथावत्प्रजानाति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ राजसी ||
Transliteration
yayā dharmam adharmaṁ ca kāryaṁ cākāryam eva ca ayathāvat prajānāti buddhiḥ sā pārtha rājasī
Commentary
Rajasic intelligence confuses right and wrong, appropriate and inappropriate action. It has some understanding but makes errors in discrimination, leading to mixed results.
