“That intelligence which, covered by darkness, regards adharma as dharma and sees all things perverted—that is tamasic, O Partha.”

अधर्मं धर्ममिति या मन्यते तमसावृता | सर्वार्थान्विपरीतांश्च बुद्धिः सा पार्थ तामसी ||
Transliteration
adharmaṁ dharmam iti yā manyate tamasāvṛtā sarvārthān viparītāṁś ca buddhiḥ sā pārtha tāmasī
Commentary
Tamasic intelligence is completely inverted: it sees wrong as right and right as wrong. Covered by ignorance, it perverts everything, leading to destructive choices.
