“One should not abandon one's innate work, O son of Kunti, even if it has faults. All undertakings are covered by defects, as fire by smoke.”
Sanskrit
सहजं कर्म कौन्तेय सदोषमपि न त्यजेत् | सर्वारम्भा हि दोषेण धूमेनाग्निरिवावृताः ||
Transliteration
sahajaṁ karma kaunteya sa-doṣam api na tyajet sarvārambhā hi doṣeṇa dhūmenāgnir ivāvṛtāḥ
Commentary
Don't abandon your natural work because of imperfections—all work has some flaw, like fire has smoke. Abandoning one's dharma doesn't eliminate defects; it creates more.
