“O Partha, how can a person who knows the soul to be indestructible, eternal, unborn, and immutable kill anyone or cause anyone to kill?”
Sanskrit
वेदाविनाशिनं नित्यं य एनमजमव्ययम् | कथं स पुरुषः पार्थ कं घातयति हन्ति कम् ||
Transliteration
vedāvināśinaṁ nityaṁ ya enam ajam avyayam kathaṁ sa puruṣaḥ pārtha kaṁ ghātayati hanti kam
Commentary
Krishna challenges Arjuna's concern about killing. One who truly understands the soul's eternal nature knows that the real self cannot be killed. The body perishes naturally; the soul continues.
