Chapter 2: Transcendental Knowledgeसांख्ययोग
2:61
“One who restrains the senses, keeping them under full control, and fixes consciousness upon Me, is known as a person of steady intelligence.”
Sanskrit
तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः | वशे हि यस्येन्द्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता ||
Transliteration
tāni sarvāṇi saṁyamya yukta āsīta mat-paraḥ vaśe hi yasyendriyāṇi tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā
Commentary
The solution to sense control is not mere suppression but redirection - focusing the mind on the Divine. When consciousness is absorbed in God, the senses naturally come under control.
