“Sanjaya said: Having spoken thus to Hrishikesha, Gudakesha, the conqueror of sleep and subduer of enemies, said to Govinda, 'I shall not fight,' and fell silent.”

सञ्जय उवाच | एवमुक्त्वा हृषीकेशं गुडाकेशः परन्तप | न योत्स्य इति गोविन्दमुक्त्वा तूष्णीं बभूव ह ||
Transliteration
sañjaya uvāca evam uktvā hṛṣīkeśaṁ guḍākeśaḥ parantapaḥ na yotsya iti govindam uktvā tūṣṇīṁ babhūva ha
Commentary
After his emotional outpouring, Arjuna declares he will not fight and falls silent. This dramatic pause creates the space for Krishna's comprehensive spiritual teachings.
