“As the ignorant perform their duties with attachment to results, so the wise should act without attachment, for the welfare of the world.”

सक्ताः कर्मण्यविद्वांसो यथा कुर्वन्ति भारत | कुर्याद्विद्वांस्तथासक्तश्चिकीर्षुर्लोकसङ्ग्रहम् ||
Transliteration
saktāḥ karmaṇy avidvāṁso yathā kurvanti bhārata kuryād vidvāṁs tathāsaktaś cikīrṣur loka-saṅgraham
Commentary
The wise act as diligently as the ignorant but with different motivation. Without personal attachment, they work for universal benefit, setting proper standards for others to follow.
