“The wise should not unsettle the minds of the ignorant who are attached to action. Instead, working in a spirit of devotion, they should encourage others to perform all actions.”
Sanskrit
न बुद्धिभेदं जनयेदज्ञानां कर्मसङ्गिनाम् | जोषयेत्सर्वकर्माणि विद्वान्युक्तः समाचरन् ||
Transliteration
na buddhi-bhedaṁ janayed ajñānāṁ karma-saṅginām joṣayet sarva-karmāṇi vidvān yuktaḥ samācaran
Commentary
Wisdom includes skillful teaching. The wise don't disturb beginners by preaching renunciation. Instead, they guide gradually, encouraging proper action before transcendence.
