“All activities are performed by the modes of material nature. But one whose mind is deluded by ego thinks, 'I am the doer.'”
Sanskrit
प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः | अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते ||
Transliteration
prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśaḥ ahaṅkāra-vimūḍhātmā kartāham iti manyate
Commentary
The false ego creates the illusion of being the independent doer. In reality, actions happen through nature's laws. Understanding this dissolves pride in success and despair in failure.
