“One who performs their duty without attachment, offering the results to the Supreme, is untouched by sin, just as a lotus leaf is untouched by water.”
Sanskrit
ब्रह्मण्याधाय कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा करोति यः | लिप्यते न स पापेन पद्मपत्रमिवाम्भसा ||
Transliteration
brahmaṇy ādhāya karmāṇi saṅgaṁ tyaktvā karoti yaḥ lipyate na sa pāpena padma-patram ivāmbhasā
Commentary
The lotus, though growing in muddy water, remains clean and beautiful. Similarly, one who acts with devotion while surrendering results remains spiritually pure despite being engaged in worldly activities.
