One who is able to withstand, while still in the body, the force arising from desire and anger - that person is a yogi, a happy person.

Sanskrit

शक्नोतीहैव यः सोढुं प्राक्शरीरविमोक्षणात् | कामक्रोधोद्भवं वेगं स युक्तः स सुखी नरः ||

Transliteration

śaknotīhaiva yaḥ soḍhuṁ prāk śarīra-vimokṣaṇāt kāma-krodhodbhavaṁ vegaṁ sa yuktaḥ sa sukhī naraḥ

Commentary

The true test of spiritual progress is resisting the impulses of desire and anger while still embodied. One who can withstand these forces is truly united with the Divine and finds genuine happiness.
