Chapter 6: Path of Meditationध्यानयोग

6:8

A yogi is said to be established when satisfied with knowledge and realization, unshakable, with senses conquered, viewing equally a lump of earth, stone, or gold.

Sanskrit

ज्ञानविज्ञानतृप्तात्मा कूटस्थो विजितेन्द्रियः | युक्त इत्युच्यते योगी समलोष्टाश्मकाञ्चनः ||

Transliteration

jñāna-vijñāna-tṛptātmā kūṭa-stho vijitendriyaḥ yukta ity ucyate yogī sama-loṣṭāśma-kāñcanaḥ

Commentary

The established yogi is content with wisdom, stable, sense-controlled, and sees equal value in earth, stone, and gold. Material distinctions have lost their power.
