“Of these, the wise one who is ever united with Me in single-minded devotion is the best. I am exceedingly dear to that wise one, and they are dear to Me.”
Sanskrit
तेषां ज्ञानी नित्ययुक्त एकभक्तिर्विशिष्यते | प्रियो हि ज्ञानिनोऽत्यर्थमहं स च मम प्रियः ||
Transliteration
teṣāṁ jñānī nitya-yukta eka-bhaktir viśiṣyate priyo hi jñānino 'tyartham ahaṁ sa ca mama priyaḥ
Commentary
The jnani (wise devotee) is supreme because their love is unconditional and constant. The relationship is mutual—God is dear to the devotee, and the devotee is supremely dear to God.
