“The supreme Person in this body is also called the witness, the permitter, the supporter, the experiencer, the great Lord, and the Supreme Self.”
Sanskrit
उपद्रष्टानुमन्ता च भर्ता भोक्ता महेश्वरः | परमात्मेति चाप्युक्तो देहेऽस्मिन्पुरुषः परः ||
Transliteration
upadraṣṭānumantā ca bhartā bhoktā maheśvaraḥ paramātmeti cāpy ukto dehe 'smin puruṣaḥ paraḥ
Commentary
The supreme consciousness within has many aspects: it witnesses all, permits actions, supports existence, experiences through beings, is the ultimate Lord, and is the Supreme Self in all bodies.
