“The deluded do not perceive him departing, staying, or enjoying, connected with the gunas. Those with the eye of knowledge see.”
Sanskrit
उत्क्रामन्तं स्थितं वापि भुञ्जानं वा गुणान्वितम् | विमूढा नानुपश्यन्ति पश्यन्ति ज्ञानचक्षुषः ||
Transliteration
utkrāmantaṁ sthitaṁ vāpi bhuñjānaṁ vā guṇānvitam vimūḍhā nānupaśyanti paśyanti jñāna-cakṣuṣaḥ
Commentary
Ignorant people cannot perceive the soul—whether it is leaving the body, residing in it, or experiencing through the gunas. Only those with wisdom's eye can see the soul.
