It is said that the soul is invisible, inconceivable, and immutable. Knowing this, you should not grieve for the body.

Sanskrit

अव्यक्तोऽयमचिन्त्योऽयमविकार्योऽयमुच्यते | तस्मादेवं विदित्वैनं नानुशोचितुमर्हसि ||

Transliteration

avyakto 'yam acintyo 'yam avikāryo 'yam ucyate tasmād evaṁ viditvainaṁ nānuśocitum arhasi

Commentary

The soul cannot be perceived by senses, conceived by mind, or changed by time. Understanding this truth should free Arjuna from grief over the impending deaths in battle.
