“O Partha, one who does not follow this cosmic cycle of sacrifice established by the Vedas, but lives for sense pleasure, lives in vain.”
Sanskrit
एवं प्रवर्तितं चक्रं नानुवर्तयतीह यः | अघायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघं पार्थ स जीवति ||
Transliteration
evaṁ pravartitaṁ cakraṁ nānuvartayatīha yaḥ aghāyur indriyārāmo moghaṁ pārtha sa jīvati
Commentary
Those who ignore the cosmic order and live only for personal pleasure waste their human birth. Life has a sacred purpose beyond mere enjoyment.
