“Know that all states of being—sattvic, rajasic, and tamasic—are manifested by My energy. I am not in them, but they are in Me.”
Sanskrit
ये चैव सात्त्विका भावा राजसास्तामसाश्च ये | मत्त एवेति तान्विद्धि न त्वहं तेषु ते मयि ||
Transliteration
ye caiva sāttvikā bhāvā rājasās tāmasāś ca ye matta eveti tān viddhi na tv ahaṁ teṣu te mayi
Commentary
The three modes of nature arise from God but do not limit Him. He transcends His own creation. The modes exist within God, but God is not bound by them—a crucial distinction.
